The Learning Choice Academy (TLC) is a free, K-12 public charter school with sites in Chula Vista, La Mesa, and San Diego. TLC was founded by educators in 2004 in direct response to the needs of parents and students who were looking for something different from their traditional public schools.

The goal was to create a school that was flexible and caring enough to empower all students to reach their full potential.

Since 2004, TLC has grown from serving 350 students to over 1,000.

TLC utilizes a hybrid-homeschool model, which incorporates both school and parent involvement in educating students. Families can choose between a 100% Homeschool Program, or a Hybrid Program, with 3 days at school and 2 days at home. Every TLC student is set up to succeed through direct support from teachers and a personalized learning plan that meets their academic and personal needs.
