The Villar institute started one and a half years ago, with the aim to bring experts and interested people from diverse backgrounds to one place to discuss the integration of a carbon zero climate. The conference, held in Villar Alpine Resort, Switzerland, focuses on finding solutions in an ethical, equitable and humane manner. It is composed of two parts: The Symposium and the Summit.
The Symposium is for 13 to 19 year olds, and has panels discussing issues ranging from energy transition to a carbon zero economy. After the panels, discussions are held in break out rooms where further ideas can be generated. Those who attend become fellows and have the opportunity to attend a Summit.
The Summit is composed of experts in a wide range of climate solution related topics. They present their ideas and findings, holding an open discussion afterward to generate innovative cross disciplinary solutions to the climate crisis, but also focusing on the political and economic factors.
