Come enjoy fresh air and a peaceful environment! We work planting and looking after various fruits and vegetables during spring and summer, then get together to put the eco-garden into hibernation for winter, where it is still open for students, just not growing anything.
The Eco-Garden is a place where students and teachers can gather and enjoy the outdoors. The natural hedges provide a secluded space for creativity and calm, and its garden grows seasonal crops, to align with the regional growing cycle.
The crops grown vary in purpose: medicinal, aesthetic, local, though all are sustainable. Those that are edible are given to the people who help to plant or used by the cafeteria in the weekly meals, providing healthy, local nutrition. Some plants encourage bees and butterflies to visit, improving bio-diversity.
The eco-garden is open to all, no matter your planting experience. There are people here to help! :] It's a great experience for students working for CAS, International Award, and middle schoolers. Gillian holds meetings are on Wednesdays lunch (P5-P6) until 2pm, and the projects are organized by the students to develop independence.
