The Earth Prize is a global competition for secondary students to create a product for sustainability. In teams, students work to create their own products, sketching out the idea, and considering sustainability, cost, accessibility and usefulness. The goal is that this project stays sustainable, (think material, manufacturing and packaging), is reusable and beneficial to people. Every product focuses on one of the Sustainable Development Goals.
This group of 3 students from Summit Education, Vietnam, created a biodegradable sanitary pad made from dragon fruit peels.
A at home, portable, plastic shredder. This small trashbin sized plastic shredder would be made of wood, and compostible once it reached the end of its life. The goal would be to garentee the proper recyling of plastic by preping the plastic for the next step in the prosses before dropping it at a Dechetarey. In fact the plastic could be delivered directly to companies that use the plastic to creat new products like cofee machines.
