There is no one way to go about designing a Competency-Based assessment, grading and reporting structure. Every system has made nuanced decisions around outcomes, levels of proficiency, determining evidence, summarizing progress, translating to grades and fulfilling transcription, cohorting and promotion needs. The profiles included in this section are intended to serve as models to show the wide variety of approaches that systems have successfully implemented. 

Each of the schools highlighted in this Playbook have their own unique context. Although their context may look different from yours, we encourage you to consider their approach as a model to glean new ideas from and consider when designing your own structures.
