LEARN Hunter Perkins Charter School recognizes and honors scholars for outstanding achievement. The highest recognition bestowed is through membership in our honor society chapters. This recognition is achieved through a selection process based upon a scholar's exemplary demonstration of the respective pillars for each organization.
THE LION'S ROAR CHAPTER
ELIGIBILITY & SELECTION Steps
The membership selection process for the Lion's Roar Chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society are as follows:
Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must be enrolled in 4th ,5th ,or 6th Grade
candidates must have been enrolled for a period equivalent to one semester at LEARN Hunter Perkins Charter School prior to the invitation
Candidates eligible for Selection to the chapter shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0% in all subjects and have no more than (5) Level 1 Teacher Managed Incident Reports
Upon meeting the grade level, enrollment, and grade average standard, candidates shall then be considered based on their demonstrated personal responsibility
The selection of members to this chapter shall be by a majority vote of the Faculty Council which consists of faculty members appointed by the principal
Candidates’ academic records shall be reviewed to determine scholastic eligibility
Candidates who are eligible scholastically shall be notified & asked to submit the Candidate’s Form for further consideration
The faculty council shall be requested to evaluate candidates determined to be scholastically eligible using the official evaluation form provided by the chapter adviser
The Faculty Council shall review the Candidates Forms, faculty evaluations and other relevant information to determine those who fully meet the selection criteria for membership
The selection of active members shall be held once a year during the first semester of the school year
Candidates become members when inducted at a special ceremony
THE LION'S PRIDE CHAPTER
ELIGIBILITY & SELECTION Steps
The membership selection process for the Lion's PRIDE Chapter of the National JUNIOR Honor Society are as follows:
Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must be in 7th or 8th grade
candidates eligible for selection to membership in this chapter must have been enrolled for a period equivalent to one semester at LEARN Hunter Perkins, prior to the invitation
Candidates eligible for election to the chapter shall have a minimum middle school cumulative 3.5 GPA on a 4.0
Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must have no more than (3) Level 1 Teacher Managed Incident Reports
Upon meeting the grade level, enrollment, and GPA standards, candidates shall then be considered based on their service, leadership, character, and citizenship
The selection of members to this chapter shall be by a majority vote of the faculty council which consists of five faculty members appointed by the principal
The selection of active members shall be held once a year during the first semester of the school year.
Candidates academic records shall be reviewed to determine scholastic eligibility.
candidates who are eligible scholastically shall be notified & asked to submit the candidate information form & ESSAY PROMPT
The faculty Council shall be requested to evaluate candidates determined to be scholastically eligible using the official input form provided by the chapter adviser.
The faculty council shall review the candidate information forms, faculty input, and other relevant information to determine those who fully meet the selection criteria for membership.
Candidates become members when inducted at a special ceremony.
