The DKMS Go-Kart Club offers students a unique, hands-on mechanical engineering experience, but building go-karts requires substantial materials and specialized tools. Your donations directly support our ability to tackle ambitious projects like the new Electric Chassis and the 4-Wheel Independent Suspension system.
We welcome contributions in two key areas:
1. Financial Contributions
Monetary donations help us purchase essential, high-cost consumables and components for our three-tier project progression. Funds are used for items like:
Welding Consumables: MIG wire, shielding gas, grinding wheels, and flap discs.
Specialty Components: Bearings, wheels, hardware (bolts, nuts), and electrical wiring for the Tier 2 and Tier 3 electric karts.
Tool Upgrades: Precision bits and end mills for the Milling Machine.
GoKart Components: Torque converters, high-performance engine components, wheels, tires, rims, and high-strength fasteners.
To Donate: Please contact the Club Advisor, Mr. McColm, directly at DKMS to discuss making a financial contribution through the school.
2. Material Donations (The Wish List)
We are always looking for donations of mild steel and other components that help us keep costs down and allow students to practice their skills.
If you have materials you believe could be useful, please email Mr. McColm (wmccolm@prn.bc.ca), to arrange a time for drop-off. Thank you for helping us put real tools and real challenges into the hands of our students!
