WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
The goal of your Learning Story is to demonstrate that you know who you are as a person, and that you can articulate that with ease. You will create a learning story page (Task info on the GC) on your Gsite that showcases who you are at this point in your life. You can share your interests, accomplishments, passions, goals, or even challenges.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO NOW?
Introduce who you are as a person through detailed examples or experiences.
Draw from your interests, accomplishments, passions, goals, or even challenges.
Demonstrate how these experiences shift your thinking, broaden your perspective, and shape who you are becoming.
Select one key example/experience/event or multiple examples to tell your story.
Here are some key points (a checklist) to guide you in developing your Learning Story:
My story follows a logical sequence of thoughts and ideas.
My story connects appropriate content to the overarching theme.
My story describes my learning journey and how my experience(s) have shifted my thinking, broadened my perspective, and shaped who I am becoming.
My story includes compelling features (like photos or videos) to engage the audience (my panel members).
My story demonstrates my growth mindset.
My story reveals who I am as a person (my interests, accomplishments, passions, goals, or even challenges).
My story includes images/videos or artifacts.
Possible artifacts: a blog, a song, a project, a piece of art, paper, artifacts from a sport or activity. Anything that has meaning for you and that you can explain how it has impacted you.
The images/videos or artifact is not as important as your explanation of how it is relevant to your story.
HOW DOES THIS RELATE TO MY CAPSTONE?
You will use your Learning Story as your Personal Introduction during your Capstone Presentation
