We did it again! Helen Gorman Elementary came out to party! Your enthusiam, creativity and connection made for another memorable Halloween at HGE.
The annual pumpkin walk was a SUCCESS! You voted with googly eyes and the winners from each grade were chosen! They are:
Peyton in Ms. Kerr's Kindergaten class
Wally in Mrs. Soukeroff's Grade 1 class
Ashton in Mrs. Hanson's Grade 1/2 class
Dylan in Mrs. Sproule's Grade 3/4 class
Greyson in Mrs. Casorso's Grade 4 class
Bryn in Mrs. David's Grade 5 class
Thank you to our PAC volunteers who stayed the WHOLE day to organize the walk!
The quarters rolled in and we have a winner! Mrs. Casorso's class brought in $73.56! She and Mrs. Gillman will dressed up on Monday!
Ms. Kimmie brought in a black light to the music room for some great fun this past week while Mrs. Soukeroff's class celebrated with a Bat Cave Day! Mr. Aka's creative grade 5s made haunted houses!

On Monday, October 27, we doned on blue for the JAYS! Thanks for showing your school spirit everyone! It was a great run and we were hopeful for the great win!

Childminding @ PAC Meetings
A friendly reminder that childminding during PAC meetings is available only for students in Kindergarten to Grade 5. Childminding is offered through HGE PAC in the school gym and students are supervised by interested Grade 5 students. If you have a responsible intermediate interested in babysitting please email the PAC at hgeparents@gmail.com. Please know that the grade 4 or 5s who do take on this important role of "babysitters" during these meetings, do so knowing they are caring for younger children and having older middle students attend can make it challenging for them to lead with confidence. While we value connections with middle school students, we ask for your support in keeping childminding limited to children in grades K–5.
