Pinch Pots
Mrs. McLaren’s class learned how to hand-build with natural clay and created pinch pots. The art teachers at Mount Boucherie High School generously provided access to their kiln, firing the pots first to the bisque stage and then again after they were glazed.

Helen Gorman Elementary brought PacificSport Okanagan back into our school community for a second year for wheelchair basketball! The students absolutely loved the experience and the opportunity to trial a wheel chair.

Mrs. Soukeroff and Mrs. Hanson took their learners to Camp Dunlop for the day on June 9! It was a great success with much excitement in the great outdoors! Between forest exploration, sand creations and a swing in the lake - it made for a fun way to celebration the end of the school year!

Our Grade 5s were busy preparing for their year end farewell this week! Such excitement is in the air as we prepare for the final days of the 2025-2026. We look forward to celebrating our Grade 5s on Wednesday, June 24!

A BIG thank-you to Jeanne at Paradigm 3D in West Kelowna for donating a 3D printer to Helen Gorman Elementary! The grade 5 students have been learning to use the Tinkercad software in ADST, to design a model of a keychain and then have it 3D printed!

We are looking for families to host international high school students from around the world.
Next round of placements begins September 2026. Homestay compensation will be $1200/month/student starting in 2026-2027.

HGE Hot Lunch Program
Our hot lunch program will be starting up in the fall, more information to come.
Childminding @ PAC Meetings
A friendly reminder that childminding during PAC meetings is available only for students in Kindergarten to Grade 5. Childminding is offered through HGE PAC in the school gym and students are supervised by interested Grade 5 students. If you have a responsible intermediate interested in babysitting please email the PAC at hgeparents@gmail.com. Please know that the grade 4 or 5 student(s) who do take on this important role of "babysitters" during these meetings, do so knowing they are caring for younger children and having older middle students attend can make it challenging for them to lead with confidence. While we value connections with middle school students, we ask for your support in keeping childminding limited to children in grades K–5. If you have any questions, please contact the HGE PAC President, Virginia Nymeyer by emailing hgeparents@gmail.com. Thank you!
