CREATIVE + CRITICAL + COLLABORATIVE =
Define the problem - What is needed? By who?
Ideate - Brainstorm a bunch of ideas. Try not to judge them yet.
SUPERFLUITY - "The creator generates more ideas than are strictly necessary" (Simonton, 2015, p. 8)
Draft - Pick one idea you like. Try it out.
Share it - Seek feedback. (2 stars, 1 wish; Fishbowl; Suggestion Box, etc.)
Reflect - What worked? What didn't?
Revise - Make changes. Be prepared to repeat steps #3, 4, 5, and 6 several (many? several thousand?!) times.
'After devoting ~9,000 experiments to one particular battery, one of his associates expressed regret that they had no results for their efforts. “Results!” Edison exclaimed, “Why, man I have got a lot of results. I have found several thousand things that won’t work." '
(Whitehorne, 1920, p. 258; as cited in Simonton, 2015, p. 9)
Finalize - Make this version as good / great as possible.
