Mathématiques 10C (5 credits)
Prerequisite: 50% in Grade 9 Mathematics
The content of this course is the same as Mathematics 10C. This course is only available to Extended French Program students.
Mathématiques 10 AP (5 credits)
Recommended Prerequisite: 75% in Grade 9 Mathematics
The content of this course is the same as Mathematics 10 AP. This course is only available to Extended French Program students.
Mathématiques 20 AP (5 credits)
Prerequisite: 75% in Mathématiques 10 AP
This course is intended for highly motivated and capable students. This course is similar to Mathematics 20-1, with some higher-level questioning and additional topics from a higher-level Math (Mathematics 30-1) . Graphing calculators will be used to solve problems and develop concepts. This course is only available to Extended French Program students.
Mathématiques 20-1 (5 credits)
Recommended Prerequisite: 65% in Mathématiques 10C
This course is recommended for students who have successfully completed Mathematics 10C and is designed for those who are planning to enter post-secondary programs such as engineering, mathematics, sciences, some business studies, or other programs that require advanced math skills. This course is only available to Extended French Program students.
Mathématiques 30-1 (5 credits)
Recommended Prerequisite: 50% in Mathématiques 20-1
This course is for those students wishing to enter post-secondary programs such as engineering or programs that require advanced math skills. This program includes the topics permutations and combinations, relations and functions, transformations, and trigonometry. This course is only available to Extended French Program students.
Mathématiques 30-2 (5 credits)
Prerequisite: 50% in Mathématiques 20-2
This course is recommended for students wishing to study at the post-secondary level in diverse fields. This path will fulfill most students’ needs and is designed with a great deal of flexibility. Students can switch sequences in grade 11 or 12 if their interests change. This program includes the topics logical reasoning, relations, functions and equations, and probability. This course is only available to Extended French Program students.
Mathematics 31 (5 credits)
Recommended Prerequisite: 65% in Mathématiques 20-1: Co-requisite Mathématiques 30-1
This course is intended for students who are intending to pursue post-secondary studies in a university or college in a mathematics intensive program. Mathematics 31 is the study of calculus. Topics studied include derivatives, integral calculus, volumes of solids, calculus of exponential and logarithmic functions and applications of derivatives. This course is only available to Extended French Program students.
Mathématiques 30-1 AP/Mathématiques 31 AP (10 credits)
Prerequisite: 75% in Mathématiques 20-1 AP
This course is intended for highly motivated and capable students who are intending to pursue post-secondary studies in a mathematics intensive program. The contents of Math 30-1 will be taught over two semesters. The accelerated pace of the course will allow for the study of supplementary material.
Math 31 AP varies significantly from Math 31. The application of derivatives and integrals is studied in more depth. The pre-calculus component introduced in Math 20-1 AP is continued with limits, asymptotic and unbounded behavior, and continuity as a property of functions. The Math 31 AP exam will be written in May, and the Math 30-1 diploma exam will be written in June. This course is only available to Extended French Program students.
