As one of Canada’s official languages, French is an optimal language choice for our students. French opens the door to many future career and learning opportunities, not only in Canada but in the world. Over 200 million people worldwide can read, write, understand, or speak French. It is an official language of many international organizations such as the Olympics, the U.N., and the Red Cross. Our Lady of the Rockies’s delivery of the FSL program is enhanced by the presence of the Extended French program at the school which provides many opportunities and resources to enrich student learning of the French language.
This is an introductory first-year program for those students who have studied the basic concepts of French at the elementary and/or junior high level and have received two or three years of French as a Second Language.
