Final Exam and Diploma Exam Review

The final exam is intended to mirror that of the diploma exam. This format has changed over the years and might change again at any time. Talk to a Biology teacher for the latest.
However, as of September 2020 the format of the diploma exam is all multiple choice and numerical response. As a result the final exam will be the same. The final exam consists of 60 multiple choice questions and 10 numerical response questions.
Unit Emphasis: The breakdown for the exam will be approximately as follows:
Nervous system and Sensory Receptors - 14%
Endocrine system - 10%
Reproduction – 10%
Human Development - 7%
Cell division - 14%
Genetics and Inheritance - 14%
Molecular Biology - 14%
Population Genetics and Interactions (including Hardy-Weinberg) - 17%
Review Strategies: Be sure to take advantage of the following:

- There is a review PowerPoint on D2L entitled Final Exam Review that covers the material found on the final. It was specifically made to cover what is on the final exam so you can use this to focus your studying. This is a good tool for studying for your final, but is not sufficient when it comes to studying for your diploma.

- The Key - This publication has many practice questions and old diploma exam questions. These are the style of questions that you can expect on both your final exam and your diploma exam.
- Review seminars - Check with a Biology teacher for the dates of these.
