Let Yourself Grow
One of Maple's goals this year is to create socially conscious student leaders and independent workers supported by our school community. We believe that students and families sharing independent activities will help students feel safe to take appropriate risks.
A parent letter explaining the Let Grow Project was sent home last week along with the Student Handout for ideas your child (and family) can do. While the project should be done independently be the student, it's important that families are aware of the activity/project, supervise as needed, and share about the experience. If there is an activity your child would like to try that isn’t listed, please feel free to add it as the project ideas are unlimited.
Mondays will be the Let Grow Project “homework” night replacing traditional assignments. There is no deadline so children can repeat or extend a project of their choice. In the classrooms, students will have the opportunity to reflect upon their accomplishments. There will also be time at assemblies to share and student reflections will be displayed on campus.
