FIRST, check the institutions to which you are applying for admission. The bulk of finanical aid and scholarship opportunity can often come directly from the colleges you're applying to. Each College/University often has their own financial aid and scholarship process and that can vary from instituion to instiution, so it is always best to ask questions of the Financial Aid Offices at your prospective schools.
Many institutions may recommend or require students to complete the FAFSA or the CCS Profile to help institutions determine financial aid options. See below for more details.

We encourage seniors and their parents to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students can begin filling out this application when it opens in October of the year prior to starting college to determine financial aid eligibility and often it is a requirement for institutional merit-based scholarships. Each school will have their own priority deadline, however financial aid is first-come, first-served. Filing the FAFSA is easier than ever since it will be relying on prior prior year income and tax information and will automatically link to your tax information.

The Federal Student Aid Estimator can be used to estimate your eligibility for federal student aid using past tax information. For more information about financial aid, check out FinAid.

Texas Music Educator's Scholarship *Deadline: 10/30/26- TMEA is pleased to offer over $200,000 in scholarships each year for current and aspiring music educators in Texas. Information and Application
Hispanic Heritage Awards *Deadline: 11/1/26-The Youth Awards were founded in 1998 by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. Now entering their 28th year, the Youth Awards honor high school seniors who excel in the classroom and community and for their excellence in various categories including: Community Service, Engineering, Entrepreneurship and Green, with additional categories being added throughout the awards season. Young Women in STEM Scholarship *Deadline: 11/1/26-The Young Women in STEM Scholarship looks to encourage the future generation of women in STEM fields, especially those coming from low-income backgrounds. Female high school seniors and undergraduate students that are from a low-income household and are pursuing a degree in STEM can apply. Information and Application
Chic Fil A Scholarships *Deadline: 11/3/26-Every year, thirteen (13) $25,000 scholarships are awarded to students based on academic success, community service and financial need. The Chick-fil-A Community Scholars also participate in the Chick-fil-A Scholars Program, a one-year engagement that includes mentoring and leadership development alongside our $25k Remarkable Futures Scholars. Through this program, we recognize remarkable individuals who share our dedication to caring for others and caring for their communities. Barbara Lotze Scholarship for Future Physics Teachers *Deadline: 12/1/26- Undergraduate students enrolled, or planning to enroll, in physics teacher preparation curricula and high school seniors entering such programs are eligible. Successful applicants receive a stipend of up to $3,000 and a complimentary AAPT Student Membership for one year. The scholarship may be granted to an individual for each of four years. Ron Brown Scholarship *Deadline: 12/1/26- The Ron Brown Scholarship honors the legacy of Ronald H. Brown through a selective scholarship program that advances higher education for community-minded and intellectually gifted African Americans. Information and Application
Smart STEM Scholarships *Deadline: 12/1/26- TheSMART Scholarship-for-Service Program is a unique opportunity for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) students to advance their education and jumpstart their careers. SMART provides merit-based scholarships to bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students pursuing STEM degrees. SMART scholarship recipients receive full tuition, annual stipends, summer internships, and after graduation, civilian employment with the Department of War. Applications are open annually from August 1 to the first Friday in December. Check your eligibility now to see if you qualify and take the first step toward a successful future in STEM. Ray Stoesser Agriculture Scholarship *Deadline: 12/4/26- In partnership with the US Rice Producers Association, the Stoesser family offers a $5,000 scholarship to one deserving high school senior or current college student who is interested in or is currently pursuing a career in an agriculture-related field. BGL Referee & Umpire Scholarship *Deadline: 12/15/26- BenGlassLaw invites incoming or current students attending United States colleges, universities, trade schools, and graduate schools to apply for the Referee and Umpire Leadership Scholarship. Students must agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions to qualify for the $2,500 award. Information and Application
Sorptimist of Austin *Deadline: 12/15/26- OPEN THE APPLICATION IN GOOGLE DOCS TO EDIT! The Ava Crofford Community Service Award is given in recognition of the outstanding contributions made by young women to home, school, community, country, and the world. The award was established in 2000 to honor former Soroptimist Ava Crofford. Applicants should be graduating from high school during the year of the Award; and have plans in place for post-secondary college or vocational training. Financial need will be a key consideration, so the applicant should describe any funding obstacles. Information and Application
William Ruggles Journalism Scholarship *Deadline: 12/31/26-The William B. Ruggles Journalism Scholarship honors the esteemed Texas journalist who coined the phrase “Right to Work” and contributed greatly to the movement’s advancement. One $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to the student who exemplifies the dedication to the Right to Work principles and high journalistic standards of the late Mr. Ruggles. Individuals seeking to attend or individuals attending a United States institution of higher learning (undergraduate or graduate) who have demonstrated journalistic skills or major in journalism may apply. Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship *Deadline: 1/14/27 -TheThe Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) perpetuates the memory of Jackie Robinson by providing generous four-year scholarships and comprehensive support services to highly motivated college students with financial needs to ensure their success and further develop their leadership potential. Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship *Deadline: 1/15/27- The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the annual National Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship Awards for students completing twelfth grade (or final high school year) in 2027 who are planning careers in government service. Scholarship applicants must be citizens of the United States. The Trustees and Members of the Foundation, mindful of the significance of the important event in our nation’s history that occurred at Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, believe that if our country is to continue to progress, we must have thoroughly trained, dedicated young people to carry on our government’s work in future years. Breaking New Ground Scholarship *Deadline: 2/15/27- Our biannual Breaking New Ground Scholarship awards $1,500 each semester to a first-generation college student who exemplifies academic excellence, demonstrates a strong work ethic, and shares a passion for business, transportation, or liberal arts and sciences. Kochar & Co Scholarship *Deadline: 3/31/27- In order to qualify, students must:
A) Be attending a college or university on a full-time or part-time basis no later than September 2027
B) Have achieved a GPA of 2.5 or greater during their last academic year
C) Submit an answer to the essay question no later than 11:59 PM PST on the day of the deadline
D) Be attending a college or university in the United States or Canada
