Greetings!
I'm Ms. Moore, and I am all about living a life with purpose and having a lot of fun along the way. I strive to create a learning space that is safe, interesting, sometimes spontaneous, and always engaging.
Here's my qualifications to do what I do -
This my 30th year of teaching, and I have degrees in English, Theatre, and Communications from University of Minnesota - Moorhead. I'm certified to teach tech apps, journalism, theatre, and communications; in 2011, I was honored to be named Region 6 Teacher of the Year in Texas. I've taught everything from sci-fi literature to drama to AV production. I've coached speech and debate teams, directed all sorts of plays, sponsored literary clubs, and advised yearbook and newspaper.
I have presented workshops at the national Student Television Network convention, and most recently developed and delivered workshops in Washington DC for PBS Student Reporting Labs. My students have competed at STN and placed in categories as diverse as Anchoring, Music Video, Commercial, and Short Film. We've also received scholarships to attend the Austin Film Festival, where my students took first place in the student pitch contest.
I've taken a few breaks from teaching along the way, doing a stint in advertising, adopting some kiddos, and living life. I've worked for a small video production company, where I live-edited five-camera music videos, produced corporate videos, and an array of other promotional projects.
I love working with students. In my spare time, I am a mom, grandma, photographer, and traveler. I have a cool fiance named Scott. I have been known to go over-the-top at Halloween. I also have a dog named Max.
