Students will complete steps 1-9 in order to become an ACC Dual Credit student. This is a college application, therefore it is your responsibility to complete the Dual Credit enrollment. There are opportunities for support during this process. Please feel free to email christina.wallace@leanderisd.org if you have questions.
Your student should complete the entire Dual Credit enrollment process. It is important for students to take ownership in the enrollment process so they can learn self-advocacy skills that will help them be successful in their ACC classes. Therefore, please do not complete the enrollment process on their behalf.
The ACC Dual Credit Enrollment process will take multiple days to complete - don't wait until the last minute! Here is an overview of all the elements that go into ACC Dual Credit enrollment & registration:
RHS Course selection > ACC Dual Credit Enrollment process > Student requests approved by ACC > Course registration
RHS Course selection - Submit your course sheet for next year & indicate you plan to take ACC classes.
ACC Dual Credit Enrollment process - The process where you become an ACC Dual Credit student.
You must complete steps 1-9 of the ACC Dual Credit Enrollment process; Once you complete the enrollment process you will be considered a "Dual Credit student."
The final step of the process (step #9) is to meet with Mrs. Wallace to discuss your course plans and submit a registration request form.
Student requests approved by ACC - After your enrollment meeting, Mrs. Wallace submits your info to ACC so they can approve your registration.
You will be cleared to register for ACC classes upon approval.
Students who complete the ACC Dual Credit Enrollment process by the priority deadline will be approved and cleared to register when registration opens.
Students who complete the ACC Dual Credit Enrollment process after the priority deadline will still be approved and cleared to register, but it may not be until after registration opens.
COURSE REGISTRATION - Students register for classes each semester.
You are not in an ACC class until you click the "Register" button in your My ACC account.
