Raider Nation,
At the high school level STAAR tests are called STAAR End of Course Exams or STAAR EOCs. There are 5 STAAR EOCs for all of high school Algebra 1, Biology, English 1, English 2, and US History. These exams are generally taken at the end of the year when a student has almost completed the course. For the majority of students the schedule will be as follows Algebra 1, Biology, and English 1 in 9th grade; English 2 in 10th grade; and US History in 11th grade.
A graduation requirement, is a passing score on all 5 STAAR EOCs. STAAR EOCs are offered 3 times per year June, December, and April/May. Students that did not attend STAAR testing in Spring or June are automatically added to the next testing date, December.
While all STAAR EOCs are taken online this year, students must be on campus to participate in STAAR testing. Students are expected to bring their charged school issued Lenovo. For students who do not have a school issued Lenovo, we will provide a computer for them.

What do I need on test day?

Water Bottle
Pencil for scratch work
Charged Lenovo (if you have one) w/charger - If you do not have a school issued Lenovo, we will have one for you on test day.
Preparing for STAAR EOCs
Online STAAR EOCs
For students with a school issued Lenovo, the STAAR Online Testing Program can be downloaded from the software center.
All students will want to look at the STAAR practice test prior to test day.
For students using a personal device they can still follow the practice directions. Students will be provided with a school computer on test day if they do not have a school issued Lenovo.
STAAR Resources
Students should continue to work hard in their classes. The STAAR EOCs are aligned to the curriculum in the courses. Teachers are covering everything students will need to know as they teach throughout the year. Review activities are also built into the instruction. If your student needs extra help, advocate tutorials are also available in each subject.
TEA has also provided us with released tests and other resources listed here.
