When in the classroom, students behavior is tracked privately on their desks. If your child has only one mark on their desk during the day, there is no consequence- this is simply a warning to redirect behavior. Please do not reprimand your child if they inform you they had one mark on their desk. No one is perfect, and kids need reminders to get back on track. If your child has 2 marks, I will conference with your child and we will determine a consequence (an apology, conversation with Mrs. Masi, a reflection form, etc). Three marks in a day will warrant a note or a phone call home. Please understand that with three marks, your child is preventing me from teaching and others from learning. I thank you in advance for encouraging your child to use respectful behavior in the classroom. Four marks in a day will be a discipline referral that is sent to the office. You will be contacted before this happens (the exception is physical violence- that is an automatic office referral regardless of how many marks are on the card). Consequences start over each day and students start fresh daily.
