Are you Considering ACC after High SChool?


For students who opt not to attend a 4-yr University immediately after high school, Austin Community College (ACC) is a great option. There are several different campuses across the Austin area, which offer affordable classes to fit any schedule.

The admission process is divided into Four Basic Steps. Different steps may apply, so be sure to check the Types of Student Guide to see which path is right for you.

STEP 1: ORIENTATION

The First Step online orientation gives essential information about attending ACC. Those who have previously enrolled in dual credit courses will need to meet with an Area of Study Advisor.

STEP 2: APPLICATION

Create an Application Account by submitting the online application form for credit students.

STEP 3: INFORMATION SESSIONS

Check your application status:

      • Make sure ACC received your documents by calling, emailing, or visiting the College Destination Center. For additional information, contact ACC by phone at 512-223-7747. Your application must be complete before taking the advising and registration steps.

STEP 4: REGISTRATION

Plan, register, and pay:

      • Your final application step is to plan your classes for the upcoming semester, then register and pay online by the posted deadlines. See registration information.

Already you a Dual credit student & would like to continue attending ACC after high school?


If you were a GHS ACC Dual Credit Student at any point during your high school career and plan to continue with ACC after graduation - please see the steps below for you to follow (you will be switched in the ACC system from a Dual Credit student to a Traditional Student. Please note you do not need to re-apply to ACC.


  1. Turn in your Meningitis shot record.


  1. Turn in your TSI Scores (send official SAT or ACT scores, if needed for exemption purposes)

      1. How do I meet in TSI? How do I know if I am exempt based on my SAT or ACT?


  1. Complete the Residency Form to remove your residency hold

    1. Please send your Residency form as a scanned attachment to student.records@austincc.edu.

    2. Send the documents from your ACCmail account along with a photocopy of your government-issued ID. If your address has changed since you last enrolled with ACC, you will also submit a Student Data Change form along with proof of address.

    3. You will be notified when your documents have been received and processed through your ACCmail account.


  1. Submit your final GHS transcript (from Parchment). You can pre-order your final transcript in parchment. Just click “hold for final grades” and it will auto-submit once the current semester grades are added to your transcript.
