Dual Credit

About Dual Credit:

Austin Community College Dual Credit is a program that allows high school students to take college courses at Austin Community College! Not only can students get a head start on earning college credits, but many of the courses count for high school credit as well (or what we refer to as dual credit).  Please note, that the students are responsible for purchasing their textbook for the course--please see the Resources - Dual Credit page for further details regarding textbook purchases.

Dual Credit Course Plans

Students may choose to apply for the Dual Credit cohort program, which allows them to take ACC classes on campus during the school day their junior and senior years of high school.

Steps for Enrolling in ACC Dual Credit Courses

There are several steps that each student must complete in order to become eligible to register for ACC classes.  Please read and follow the instructions on the Dual Credit Enrollment Steps carefully.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me (contact information below).

How to Read the ACC Online Course Schedule:

ACC has a helpful website that provides online information about course offerings, schedules, and locations. This website is especially important because it shows the course schedule for each semester you are wanting to take classes.

ACC Registration:

Once you’ve completed steps 1-6 of the Dual Credit Enrollment Steps, you’re ready to register! You can register for classes using the ACC Registration Instructions.

You are NOT OFFICIALLY registered for an ACC class until you complete the process to register for that specific class.  In advising, you are approved to register for classes, but YOU are responsible for registering and choosing the best class time, location, and professor for your needs.
