Theatre I is all about confidence, creativity, and connection. In this one-semester course, students build the foundational tools every performer needs—voice, body, and imagination—through games, storytelling, and collaborative projects. No experience? No problem! This class is designed for all learners, whether they’ve never set foot on a stage or have been performing since kindergarten.
Students will explore:
Pantomime and movement
Character creation and storytelling
Ensemble-building and theatre games
Basic script work and blocking
Theatre design elements (like set, costumes, and props)
Theatre I focuses on process over perfection—building comfort and creativity through low-stress performance experiences. The semester ends with a public performance of a class play, where students share their work in a safe and supportive environment.
Along the way, students strengthen real-world skills like:
Collaboration and teamwork
Creative problem-solving
Public speaking and presentation
Empathy and perspective-taking
Confidence under pressure
If your student is looking for a place to take risks, make friends, and tell stories, Theatre I is the perfect stage to start on!
