6th Grade Theatre Arts
Semester Course
In Theatre Arts, we’ll play games, tell stories, move our bodies, and learn how to be bold, creative, and confident. This class is all about growing as performers and people—learning to take risks, support each other, and express ourselves in new ways.
Using our voice, body, and imagination, students will build essential life and academic skills like:
🤝 Teamwork & Collaboration – Working together in groups to build trust, solve problems, and create something amazing
🧠 Creative & Critical Thinking – Exploring new ideas, thinking on your feet, and analyzing characters and stories
🎤 Public Speaking & Communication – Building confidence speaking in front of others (without the nerves!)
🎭 Performance & Presence – Learning how to use voice, movement, and emotion to connect with an audience
🎨 Intro to Theatrical Design – Gaining hands-on experience with costumes, props, sets, and how theatre comes to life
💬 Feedback & Reflection – Practicing how to give and receive constructive criticism to grow as artists and classmates
📌 No stage fright required!
6th Grade Theatre does not perform on stage for a public audience. Instead, we wrap up the semester with a super fun puppet show for the LWBE preschoolers—a low-pressure way to perform and celebrate all we’ve learned.
For students who are ready to jump into the spotlight, we offer after-school shows each semester that are open to all CRMS students. Auditions happen early in the fall and spring, and we’d love to see your student take the stage!
No experience needed - just a willing attitude.
I’m excited to teach, learn, and have fun alongside your student. Together, we’ll create a classroom full of respect, creativity, and courage—and maybe even a little stage magic. ✨
