Advanced Theatre is a year long elective here at CRMS where we focus on developing our theatrical skills, perform live plays, watch professional shows, and a lot more. Most importantly, we have fun while gaining confidence, improving our communication and problem solving skills, and deepening our appreciation for Fine Arts.

Advanced Theatre at CRMS: Make Bold Choices. Tell True Stories.
Advanced Theatre is a full-year, audition-based course for students who are ready to take their theatre journey to the next level. In this class, we dive deep into acting, directing, design, and collaboration: building the skills, confidence, and creativity it takes to bring powerful stories to life onstage and off.
Students explore everything from character development and scene study to improvisation, movement, voice, and script analysis. We also dig into technical theatre: learning about costumes, lighting, sound, makeup, and stage management. Because great theatre is built by artists both onstage and behind the scenes.
Throughout the year, we put our learning into action with a variety of performances, including a spooky Halloween show, our original Page to Stage production inspired by stories from young authors, and a high-energy End-of-Year Showcase. Every project is a new opportunity to grow, lead, take risks, and have a ton of fun doing it.
In Advanced Theatre, we practice giving and receiving feedback, supporting one another, taking creative risks, solving problems together, and celebrating the weird, wonderful chaos of making live theatre.
Our mission?
Make brave choices. Tell true stories. Lift others. Have fun doing it.
