Guidance Lessons

Throughout the school year, school counselors meet with classes to provide lessons that support students’ academic, career, and personal/social growth. Activities may include reading books, group discussions, art and writing activities, and games. In addition to classroom guidance lessons, the school counselor may also meet with students individually or in small groups, as needed.

Topics of the classroom guidance lessons are as follows: 

• Character Education - Respect, Responsibility, Self-Esteem 

• Mindset/Resilience

• Friendship Skills and Conflict Resolution

• Mindfulness and Coping Skills

• Career and Academic Exploration
