The Wolfpack is Cedar Park High School's award-winning, student-led news publication. Produced by a staff of 21 student journalists, the Wolfpack covers the stories that matter to our school community, from breaking news and district decisions to student life, sports and major campus achievements.
Our reporting has covered everything from the superintendent's departure from Leander ISD to the marching band's state championship. Through original reporting, interviews and multimedia storytelling, students keep the Cedar Park community informed while giving a voice to the people and perspectives behind the headlines.
The Wolfpack operates as a student newsroom, with reporters and editors responsible for pitching stories, conducting interviews, researching topics, writing, editing and publishing their work.
Students make editorial decisions, collaborate to meet deadlines and develop hands-on experience in reporting, photography, editing and digital publishing. Throughout the process, they learn the importance of accuracy, journalistic ethics and responsible reporting.
As an online news publication, the Wolfpack continues to explore new ways to reach audiences and tell stories. In addition to traditional news reporting, students produce podcasts and experiment with short-form video, social media and other forms of digital storytelling.
These platforms give students opportunities to develop new skills, connect with audiences and adapt their journalism to an evolving media landscape.
Whether you're interested in writing, photography, investigative reporting, sports coverage, podcasts or digital storytelling, the Wolfpack offers opportunities to develop your skills while contributing to a student-led news publication.

SNO Distinguished Site - 2019-2020
The Wolfpack officially became a distinguished site through School Newspapers Online, the organization that hosts online school news sites across the country. We are currently ranked #1 in the country and will continue to write in-depth features over our awesome CP students to stay in the Top 5. In order to become distinguished, we had to earn six badges, from social media engagement where we had to have a certain amount of traffic to our site and post on social media every day for 4 weeks in a row, to site design excellence, to multimedia, which included starting a podcast. The staff worked so hard for this accomplishment. Congratulations to all of them!
