Horror Fiction
A genre of fiction whose purpose is to create feelings of fear, dread, repulsion, and terror in the audience.

Published by HarperCollins, 1984
Spinetingling tales of horror are unleashed in this collection of short stories. Such stories include "The Green Ribbon," about a girl who constantly wears a green ribbon around her neck and never takes it off, and "In a Dark, Dark Room," a tale that takes the reader through dark, dark woods, to a dark, dark house, to a dark, dark secret.
This would be a good resource to use for younger kids who have a want to dig into the more darker, spookier side of literature. It would also be a good resource for stories to tell children around Halloween, as well as introducing them to urban legends, folklore, and spooky spectators.
Recommended for ages 4 and up
