Kensi Sutton
Kensi is a senior at Buford High School. This is Kensi's first year on The Stinger Staff. When Kensi graduates, she plans to attend Coastal Carolina University or College of Charleston to major in English and minor in creative writing. Kensi plans to further use her degree to work in a publishing house. Kensi currently serves as a reporter on staff and she joined staff to get experience in this field. When Kensi is not found writing, she can be found playing volleyball, basketball, and soccer for Buford High School. She is excited for her first year on staff.

Kelsey Watson
Kelsey is a senior at BHS. This is Kelsey's first year on The Stinger staff. She is currently serving as a reporter. Kelsey particularly enjoys writing for the sports section and photographing athletic events. Kelsey joined The Stinger staff because she plans to pursue a career in journalism once she graduates. This is a great way for her to get experience for her future as well as gain new friendships around the BHS community. When she is not found writing, Kelsey enjoys playing softball and volleyball for Buford High School. She is excited for a great first year on staff.

Robbie Young
Robbie is a senior at BHS. He is one of the first members of The Stinger staff. He is currently serving as a reporter. Young hopes that The Stinger will help him gain some experience for his dream job of being a sports announcer. Young especially enjoys reporting for sporting and JROTC events. When not reporting for the Stinger, Young enjoys watching sports like football, baseball, and auto racing, but his favorite sport to watch is ice hockey. He is excited for the inaugural year of The Stinger.

Abigail Sherrin
Abigail is a junior at BHS. This is her first year on the staff. She is a reporter and enjoys learning more about journalism. She aspires to become a better reporter. Her favorite hobby is reading and sometimes enjoys sketching. She is very excited to be a part of the staff.

Michaela Catoe
Michaela is a sophomore at BHS, and it's her first year on The Stinger staff. She is currently a Reporter. Michaela likes writing about various topics, and enjoys meeting new people. Michaela joined The Stinger to experience new things and learn new skills, as well as getting new perspectives about her school and the students who attend BHS. Outside of school, she loves to listen to metal (music) or take walks in the woods. She is excited to be a part of something new.

Michael loves working out and playing ukulele. He also plans to try out for track. Michael is excited to be involved in his community at BHS!

She joined The Stinger because she thought it would be an amazing opportunity to get the skills she needs for when she graduates high school. She enjoys playing videogames, and particularly enjoys The Elder Scrolls series.

The Stinger's adviser is Mr. Matt Collier. This is his 22nd year of teaching. He has spent 20 of those years in North Carolina teaching English, Leadership Skills, Creative Writing, Photography and Journalism, as well as coaching basketball and soccer. In 2016 Collier and his wife, Lisa, started their own professional photography business, Captured By Collier. This is Collier's second semester at Buford High School. He is excited to introduce Journalism back into the curriculum while expanding into more media arts with his students. When he isn't at Buford, you can find Collier spending time with his family, fishing and being outdoors.

This is his 25th year in the Lancaster County School District, his fourth year at BHS as the Multipurpose Building Administrator and first year as technical advisor for The Stinger. Mr. Knight is the co-creator of LEARN-TV, the school district’s television station and was an executive producer for the channel for over 20 years. He began his career in broadcasting in the mid 80s and worked as a photojournalist for WSOC-TV in Charlotte. He looks forward to working with the broadcasting component for BHS journalism and sharing the great stories about great Yellow Jackets. In his spare time he enjoys finding treasures at yard sales, estate sales and thrift stores to sell online. He and his wife Debbie are now empty nesters, since his daughter Hannah got married over the summer and his son Ryan is a senior at Liberty University.
