Buford High school has two new additions to its community. Over Thanksgiving break, two kids were born. No, not actual children, goats! The newborn sister goats are now spending time here at school.

October. Hearing that word, many probably think of Autumn and Halloween, but at Buford High School, we think of our principals, especially Michael Belk. October is National Principals month, a month to honor and appreciate our principals for all they do for us.

This fall, The Stinger, the student-run news site at Buford High School, was unveiled to the Buford community. Student news is not entirely new at The Hive; The Stinger is just a newer version of its predecessor, The Echo.

Buford High School choral students had a brief interruption this morning when their teacher, Ne’Torrian Patton, was visited by Lancaster County School District superintendent Dr. Jonathan Phipps, and named the district’s Beginning Teacher of the Year.

Before he was married with two young kids, before he was a math teacher, Jareth Bailey was an aspiring athlete with a desire to leave an impact on his community.
Bailey graduated from Buford High School in 2006 and attended Newberry College in Newberry S.C. where he played as an outside linebacker for the football team. Although Bailey has accomplished many things throughout his life, he considers his greatest accomplishment, aside from his kids, to be playing college football.
