LEA Discussion Representatives
Discussion Representatives ("Discussion Reps") are the union members that represent your building’s membership, bringing important topics to the attention of our administrators! If you have an issue to resolve or a problem to prevent, Discussion (or “Meet-and-Discuss”) is the best place to talk about them and solve them! Discussion Representatives are voluntary, agreed-upon positions. If you would like to become a Discussion Representative, please contact your building's Discussion Chair.
LEA members are given the privilege of accessing the list of Discussion Representatives & Chairs below. This document will also list general meeting times and days, both at the building-level and corporation-wide.
LEA Discussion Chairs
The Discussion Chair (a voluntary, agreed-upon position) on each discussion team is the LEA member responsible for (1) sending Google Calendar invites to all the attendees of the meeting, (2) recording notes and responses to the concerns brought up, and (3) sending out the notes to the LEA members in their building after the meeting. The Discussion Chair may designate a secretary (or notetaker) if someone is willing to take on the responsibility. The LCSC Discussion Chair (an elected position) coordinates and takes notes for the corporation-level Meet-and-Discuss.
Keep in mind: some services and resources are only available to LEA union members. You can always ask, as we are here to make our schools better and protect our rights, regardless of membership! However, we may not be able to "go to bat" for you or provide you with member-specific information if you are not a member of the LEA. Good news: you can join anytime!
