Local Scholarships

VFW Voice of Democracy Competition

The Voice of Democracy is open to students in grades 9-12 by the October 31 deadline, who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school in the United States. Students must be lawful US permanent residents or have applied for permanent residence. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year's theme is: What Makes America Great.

LAKE OF THE OZARKS MASTER NATURALISTS SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship Eligibility

Ideal Applicants will:

-Have met the high school graduation requirements for 2020 in Camden, Laclede, Miller or Morgan Counties or currently reside in one of those four counties.

-Be interested in pursuing a career directly associated with natural resources, conservation, or natural resource management.

-Have been accepted as a full‐time or part‐time undergraduate or graduate college student majoring in a field of study related to conservation, natural resources, or natural resource management, including fields such as forestry, wildlife management, biology, zoology, fisheries, or parks and recreation.

-Have at least one year of study remaining before degree completion.

Scholarship Amount – Two (2) scholarships are available, each valued at $1,500 – ($750 per semester for the Fall and Spring semesters). Proof of continued enrollment will be required before the second semester’s award will be disbursed.

Scholarship funds may be used to cover the cost of books, tuition, and/or fees in support of the recipient’s chosen field of study.
