Console Info

Users who are granted appropriate access can use one of two consoles to manage Windows devices:

• Full Management Console
  • 32bit console application which allows all management options available per the user's role and scope (see below)
  • Accessed by Remote Desktop Session to the following servers:
    • EMCONSOLE1: System Specialists, Lead System Specialists, Systems Team, Network Team
    • EMCONSOLE2: Service Desk, Operations, Security Team
• Web console
  • Minimal management options, inventory lookup, and remote control
  • Accessed by browser at http://emcore/remote

Depending on your position, users will have a specific "Role" and "Scope" within the console.

• Role: A user's role determines what actions the user can perform within the console
• Scope: A user's scope determines what machines are visible within the console and can be managed
