Black History Month Research Project

BHM Project Groups 21-22
BHM - Example Research Project
Day 1:
  1. Decide as a group what genre you would like to research. Then BEGIN!
  2. One group member create a Google Slide and then share it to the rest of the group!
  3. If time - please complete a Title Slide that includes your genre name and group member names
  4. If you have done all of the above - please start working on your Overview slide of the whole genre.

Day 2:
  1. Complete your Title Slide! When this slide is done, send a group representative to let one of the music teachers know you have finished.
  2. Focus on completing the Genre Overview Slide utilizing the research provided in the documents below. When finished, send a group representative to show your slide to one of the music teachers.
  3. If you have completed all of this, begin to work on your Artist Feature slide. Make sure to let a music teacher know which artist (or artists) you have chosen!

Day 3:
  1. Finish your Genre Overview if you haven't! When this slide is done, send a group representative to let one of the music teachers know you have finished.
  2. Focus on completing the Artist Feature utilizing the research provided in the documents below. When finished, send a group representative to show your slide to one of the music teachers.
  3. If you have completed all of this, go over all of the completed slides and start getting them "presentation-ready." Make sure your backgrounds, pictures, and fonts are engaging and help showcase your material!

Day 4:
  1. Finish your Artist Feature if you haven't! When this slide is done, send a group representative to let one of the music teachers know you have finished.
  2. Begin your reflection slide. Each person from the group should list one thing they enjoyed about the genre, one thing they liked about the artist, or one thing they learned.
  3. Once you have completed the reflection, tell your teacher your artist and they will give you a list of songs to choose from for your Song Feature slide. DO NOT GO ON YOUTUBE TO FIND A SONG. When finished, send a group representative to show your slide to one of the music teachers.
  4. While you are waiting for your teacher to give you a list of songs, go over all of the completed slides and start getting them "presentation-ready." Make sure your backgrounds, pictures, and fonts are engaging and help showcase your material!
