Louisa County High School English teacher Kate Fletcher has made headlines with the Lion Pride Run for the past seven years, even getting national attention from the likes of Runner’s World, SHAPE magazine, and Women’s Running. She has been a guest on podcasts that have been broadcast all over the country and even had a film crew from GoFundMe Studios fly out from California to make a documentary about her incredible feat and the students that she has inspired and helped along the way.
“Fletcher sees her primary duty as helping her students to find passion and resilience in their own lives.”
-Runner’s World
The Lion Pride Run funds programs at LCHS, Scholarships for deserving seniors, and a community organization each year. In 2019, she selected Giving Words, an organization that helps to support single mothers and their children. They help repair cars, give holiday meals, and bless mothers with Christmas gifts.
Fletcher has been overwhelmed by the support the school and community have shown her over the past seven years. We hope to be able to make even more of an impact this year with Fletcher’s incredible achievement.
We are asking businesses to continue to show their support by sponsoring this event, Fletcher, and her mission to help the who have faced adversity have a brighter future.
Thank you for your time and consideration of supporting this event.
