The Area 1 Fall Leadership Workshop for 2023 was hosted at Brownfield High School. 

There, Area 1 heard from a local Brownfield business women and her struggles with developing her business and achieving success. 

There were several workshops which consisted of Ice Breakers, The National Experience, and Dress for Success. Many enjoyed these activities especially the Ice Breakers where several rounds of Duck-Duck-Goose were played. 

A scavenge hunt was held, followed by our community service project. Area 1 successfully made close to 500 goodie bags of candy to donate to the Brownfield Rainbow Room, the Lubbock Rainbow Room, and the first Area 1 FBLA Trunk-or-Treat.

This years workshop was truly phenomenal and we hope that this is a start to a great year!

Area 1 FBLA had their Second Annual Corn Maze Social after the Fall Leadership Workshop. There was a great turn out and many enjoyed the At'l Do Farms in Shallowater. 

Early in the evening many 'Got Lost in the Maze', while others rode the hay rides or the cow ride. Later in the evening, many gathered around the fire to roast marshmallows and hotdogs. 

It was a great event and we hope to continue this tradition in the years to come!

September 25 - October 11, 2023

This year Area 1 FBLA is currently partnering with the Rainbow Room in Brownfield and Lubbock. The Rainbow Room is an organization committed to helping students in custody of DFPS during the transitional period between their previous homes and their new homes.

Area 1 committed to collecting candy to create candy bags for these children to celebrate Halloween. We thank all who have donated candy!

June 24 - 25, 2023

Lubbock-Cooper hosted a leadership training for the area to prepare for the next year. Representatives from Lubbock-Cooper, Ropes, Roosevelt, Wellman-Union, and Brownfield attended. 

We came up with several great ideas that we hope to implement in the upcoming year!
