I have a classroom library full of books of different genres. As part of silent reading, the students are allowed to borrow books from my room. Quite often a student will borrow a book to use towards one of his/her book reports. The student may have the book for the term. The student signs out the book similar to the library. The student is responsible for the book and must return it in the same condition as it was on my shelf. If the book is lost or mistreated, the student will be responsible to replace the book or pay the cost for me to replace it.
