If you are entitled to a bank of days, that information appears in a box on the right-hand side of the pay statement. You can also view your Bank of Days on the SSO under "Your Personal Payroll Info".
The number of days in your bank of days is calculated based on your salary percentage and how many days you are working throughout the school year (July 1 to June 30).
Annual moneyable days are the annual bank of sick days that are replenished each year. If you don’t use them all by the end of the school year, they are paid out to you. Or, if you are a class of employee who gets a vacation sheet, you are also given the option to add them to your vacation.
Non-moneyable days are a bank of back-up sick days that are given to you when you first become an automatically-paid employee of the board. You can only use them after your annual moneyable bank is exhausted for the year. This bank of days is never replenished or paid out, and whatever you do not use each year is rolled over and remains in that bank until it is exhausted.
Personal business / PLA days vary by employee group. Please consult the relevant section below.
Special leave absences, sick days and family responsibility days attached to Winter break, March break or Summer break may require documentation. Regular personal days cannot be used attached to a long break. For more information, please contact HR at ext 31134.
Please note that family responsibility days are paid using annual moneyable days. If there is no balance in the annual moneyable days, family responsibility days will be unpaid.
Please also note that the banks do not roll over from year to year, with the possible exception of vacation for those on a medical or maternity leave. Annual sick days can be paid out at the end of the year. Vacation, for those employees who receive it, is taken as time off on the vacation sheet for regular employees or paid out for non-regular employees.
Professionals have a maximum of 12 special leave days per year. All special leave absences deduct from this bank. The number of available days does not appear on your pay statement. For queries about the balance, please contact Caroline Marion (cmarion04@lbpsb.qc.ca).

Teachers have a maximum of 8 special leave days per year. All special leaves absences deduct from this bank. The number of available days does not appear on your pay statement. For queries about the balance, please contact your school/centre secretary.

Teachers have 1 personal day as part of their special leaves. Once that personal day has been used, if another personal day is needed, teachers are now able to use a day from their annual moneyable days (sick bank) as a personal day. Please note that personal days cannot be consecutive, the request must be made to the principal/centre director at least 24 hours in advance, and they cannot extend Winter, March or Summer break.
All days in the bank of days are based on a 384-minute day. To determine how many minutes you have in that bank, multiply the # of days by 384.

Support staff have a maximum of 3 PLA days per school year. For more information regarding PLA days, please consult the PLA form available on the SSO under Human Resources / HR Forms.
Support staff who have at least 30 years of seniority or who are at least 55 years of age and have non-moneyable days to their credit, are able to transfer a maximum of 10 non-moneyable days per year to the vacation period. If retiring, an employee cannot transfer non-moneyables to vacation in the same year of retirement.

All automatically paid employees, working 20 hours or more per week, are paid for 10 days at Christmas break. 6 of these 10 days are statutory holidays, and in order to be paid for the other 4 days, they would need to complete comp time. Comp time or compensatory time is extra hours you work, above and beyond your regular work schedule in order to be paid for those 4 extra days at Christmas. The amount of comp time required depends on your salary percentage right before Christmas, and your school/centre secretary or daycare technician will let you know how many hours you need to complete. All comp time must be pre-approved by your administrator prior to you working those hours and replacement hours and governing board hours can not be used, as they are paid differently.
Once comp time is completed, any hours above and beyond your regular work that you are asked by your administrator to work are considered overtime. In order to claim overtime, you must first have completed and submitted your comp time form. If you are in daycare, please use the Daycare overtime form and otherwise use the IASS overtime form. Like comp time, you also cannot submit replacement or governing board hours as overtime. Any overtime worked must be submitted to Human Resources within 90 days (3 months) of when the time was worked, regardless of whether it will be requested as payment or time off.
