LOCAL COUNSELING RESOURCES

The resources for counseling and psychiatric services are only for informational purposes. It is recommended to check the back of insurance cards for a number to call for information about your insurance coverage and providers. The website www.psychologytoday.com is also a good starting point.

**This in no way endorses individual professionals or offices, it is solely for your reference. If you have any questions, call 816-580-7270 ext. 515.

In Crisis?

Students can access free 24/7 assistance through text with the Crisis Text Line. This hotline is staffed with trained counselors who receive texts and immediately begin a dialogue with the student who is texting. If any action needs to be taken for intervention, the Crisis Text Line staff will call the appropriate first responders if necessary or if a referral is needed, they will do that as well. These counselors are available to talk through issues that might be distressing to our students under the private communication style of texting.
