Hello Nighthawk Families!
My name is Ms. Ward, and while I've had the pleasure of teaching with LAUSD for 4 years, this is my very first year at Nobel Charter MS!
Teaching is truly my passion. There’s nothing more fulfilling to me than helping students grow, discover their voices, and find confidence in their learning. I feel incredibly lucky to do what I love every day.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in English from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and my Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Southern California. I’m currently continuing my very own education by pursuing a second master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Grand Canyon University. I truly believe in lifelong learning, and I strive to bring that same love of learning into our classroom every day.
I love teaching English because there’s so much power in stories, words, and thoughtful conversations. Together, we’ll explore important themes, build strong reading and writing skills, and learn how to express ourselves clearly and confidently. One of my favorite things is watching students discover deeper meaning in what they read and make connections to their own lives and the world around them.
When I’m not teaching, I’m soaking up every moment with my husband, our sweet 1-year-old Sebastian, our newborn Shiloh, my bonus son Jayden, and our little pup.
Trivia time: Can you guess which famous Shakespearean tragedy my dog is named after?
(Hint: It’s a story full of drama, jealousy, and a very famous handkerchief!)
