• Independent variable that the experimenter changes): The masks we used.

• Dependent variable (variable being measured/depends on independent variable): Whether a droplet absorbs or whether the mask blows out the candle.

• Constant(s) (things that are kept the same across the entire experiment): The distance of the candle and the amount of the droplet.
