What You Should Look for in a Mask
When you are looking for a type of mask to buy, you are probably asking yourself, "What do I look for in a good face mask?" According to the FDA, your masks should be light and breathable, but not see-through. They should have some type of nose wiring at the top so there are no gaps where air can get through (It shouldn't be super tight either).
Ways to Test the Effectiveness of Your Mask
A good way to tell if your mask is protecting you is by conducting either one of these two experiments. All you have to do is light a candle and try to blow out the fire whilst wearing your mask. You can also put water in your mask and see if it goes through. If you are able to blow out the fire or see the water go through, then your mask isn't that effective against the virus, Or you can conduct a couple more tests.
