In this class, you will be graded with something called Equitable Grading and Instruction (EGI). This is a standards-based grading system.
Your academic grade will be based on how well you master specific “learning targets” that are based on the state standards for math and science. Each learning target will have two or more assessments that give you the chance to demonstrate how well you have mastered that learning target. Sometimes, additional assessments will be given to collect additional evidence. Your grade will be determined by the most recent and consistent evidence of your progress. You can retake these assessments if you want to improve your score. You will still be assigned homework and classwork, however, these assignments will not impact your academic grade in this class. Instead, your homework and classwork will count towards your work habits grade.
EGI helps me see how well each student has learned each learning target and will help me understand if and where each student is struggling so that I am better able to help them.
