How do I navigate Google Classroom?

When you log into Google Classroom, you will see all of the classes you have joined as tiles. Click on a tile to go into that course or class. To get back to the page with all courses, click on the hamburger or main menu (the three lines in the left hand corner) and click on classes.

Stream

The initial page you see when entering a specific class on Google Classroom is the stream. Underneath the main class header, you will find announcements and general information posted in the middle of the page. To the left of the announcements, you will find upcoming assignments. You can return to this site by clicking “Stream” at the top center.

If your teacher allows it, you can post to the stream. Student posts to the stream should be general questions or comments that can be helpful to everyone's learning.

Note: Any inappropriate posts on the stream will be deleted and cause a teacher to mute you. If you are muted, you will no longer be able to post any public comments in that class.

Classwork

If you click on “Classwork” on the top center, you will see all classwork for this class. This is where you will find materials, worksheets, other lesson/activity specific assignments, documents, tools, links, etc. You can think of this as the place where you can find the work you are expected to complete.

Tips: If your teacher grades any assignments in Google Classroom, you will be able to see a summary of your grades by clicking "View your work."
