GPT students participate in SkillsUSA, a national, career readiness organization. As members, students develop leadership and career skills and participate in competitions. A student run “Makers Club” meets outside of class to collaborate on making objects.
Our studio has exciting tools for students to expand their studies in design, including: 3D Printing, Laser Engraving, Arduino and Code projects, Pro-level digital printing for posters, stickers, garments, buttons and more.
GPT Pathway students have the opportunity to go on at least one yearly field trip to a cultural institution. We have visited the Getty Center, the Skirball Center, the Norton Simon Museum and the International Printing Museum.
In 2023-24, the ERHS Graphics Lab will be articulated with LACC's art department. Students can earn college credit. Students can also earn certification in digital media and graphic communications.
Students are involved with the community through guest speakers, activities and special projects. For example, we playtested for the Shoah Foundation's "Dimensions in Testimony", and USC Game lab's "Mission:Admission." We organize a Valentine's Day canned food drive for those in need, and participate in various school events.
