Personal
I spent my entire K–12 education in LAUSD Valley schools and knew from an early age that I wanted to become a teacher. Education runs in my family, so teaching has always felt like a natural path for me. I am married and have three daughters, ranging in age from 12 to 31. And, yes, I am also a proud Disney adult!
Professional
I studied History at UC Santa Barbara and earned my teaching credential at Cal State Northridge. I began teaching at Cleveland in 1997, and after nearly 30 years, it truly is my second home. Over the years, I have taught ELD, Special Education, World History, and European History. I currently teach Honors and AP U.S. Government and Politics and Economics.
Beyond the classroom, I have served as Senior Class Adviser since 2001. One of my favorite parts of teaching is getting to know my students beyond academics and watching them grow from the beginning of the school year all the way through graduation.
As a history and government teacher, I hope students leave my classroom with more than a collection of facts and dates. My goal is for them to understand how the past connects to the world around them, think critically about current events, ask good questions, and become informed and engaged citizens.
