Raising Awareness for Feminine Hygiene products
Who came up with the idea first?
Sofia Guzman & Christina Gray – “It was a group thing with Christina Gray, Sophia Guzman, Chloe Vivanco, and Ruby Grajeda”
What motivated you to take action about this topic?
Christina Gray – “We went on a field trip to Cal State Dominguez Hills. We had a program there that was hosted for 3 days. The whole point of the program was to come up with an issue and figure out how to problem solve it. The issue we thought of was Women Hygiene Products. We go in the bathroom and there are tampon and pad machines, but they are always empty. Sometimes people throw them on the walls, they get emptied out, and no one ever refills them. They haven’t been refilled for the past few months, which I noticed. We thought of this issue and figured we could solve this problem by having people donate these products.”
Information about health products and making them accessible?
Sophia Guzman – “It would be accessible in different teacher’s classrooms and in the main office. It would be accessible mainly to female teachers”
How do you hope to accomplish this goal?
Christina Gray – “In a month, but for our club , SJTECH, we are having donations due by at least next Friday, March 28. Even if you’re not in the club, donations can always be sent to Mrs. Loh’s class in S4.”
Who could you ask to refill the feminine products?
Christina Gray – “Well what I’ve learned is that it is a state law that the school is supposed to have free tampons and pads in the bathroom. It is technically the school’s responsibility, but since they are not keeping up with their responsibility, obviously people who want to donate stuff can donate it to female or even male teachers.”
Sophia Guzman – “We recommended that we do it for the club event for SJTECH so that we could donate it, and have it for everyone to use.”
Christina Gray – “It is Women’s History Month”
Sophia Guzman – “Perfect month to do it and raise awareness for it because people don’t talk about it here too much.”

Quote of the Week
“There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.”
-Michelle Obama
This quote by Michelle Obama means that women can achieve anything they want in life. There are no boundaries or limits on what women can do, whether it’s in their careers, education, or personal goals. It encourages women to believe in themselves and to work hard to reach their dreams.
