Through this semester, I learned that sustainability is so much more than just using my reusable water bottle. Sustainability is a lifestyle that while at first may require some changes, is healthier and more productive in the long run. Living a sustainable lifestyle not just benefits the Earth, but helps give each individual the quality of life that they can take it upon themselves to enact positive change.
I have tried my best to integrate the 6 R's of sustainability in my life. Reduce, reuse, recycle, repair, re-purpose, and rot can seem intimidating, but simply taking one can make a difference. I am currently working to do more repairs. I learned how to mend my clothing to save old, but loved clothes instead of always buying new.

EJ Changemakers know that structural change drives, and will heal, the environmental crisis. They are informed on how government, business, and social structures are the primary drivers of the environmental crisis, and envision how to revise and reimagine them to restore environmental justice.
EJ Changemakers make informed choices in their day-to-day routines to sustain and regenerate our planet, while also acknowledging that individual-level choices are necessary but insufficient to restore environmental justice.
EJ Changemakers have strategies and dispositions to healthily manage the complex, challenging work of changemaking.
This letter was written to County Executive Chris Ronayne to advocate for more green space in Cleveland. This letter is a demonstration of the power of short but punchy writing and helped to advocate for more prospering communities.
Building a community compost bin
My classmates and I built a large compost bin to be used on one of our school campuses. Through this process, I learned how to use certain power tools, and the importance of composting to soil and plant health.
Yoga
The photo above is from when I taught a yoga class to my peers. Although I am not a certified yoga teacher, I take it often as a form of physical activity and stress relief. I shared some of my yoga practice with my classmates for a break from the learning day.
