Objetivos del Equipo INNOVACIÓN 

El equipo de Innovaciones es un equipo de apoyo a todas las partes interesadas para investigar e implementar una enseñanza y un aprendizaje impactantes en Newton College.

• Promover el cambio metodológico y tecnológico en el centro del colegio con el objetivo de fomentar un aprendizaje continuo y duradero para los alumnos, el personal y las familias.

• Promover el concepto de Growth Mindset entre profesores y alumnos.

• Investigación, implantación, evaluación y seguimiento de metodologías y modelos en el centro. Consensuar las metodologías apropiadas para el centro/etapas y asegurar su uso adecuado por parte del profesorado con seguimiento de su uso, reflexión sobre su eficacia y mejoras a través de la formación continua en este aspecto.

• Investigación y desarrollo de nuevos enfoques de enseñanza y aprendizaje en colaboración con Aprendizaje e Innovación del ISP, el Jefe global TICs y el equipo de Learning Experience.

• Las metodologías establecidas por la escuela como metodologías de uso común en LNC y presentadas y trabajadas en las jornadas INSET deben ser las piedras angulares de la escuela para todos los profesores: PBL (Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos), Aprendizaje Cooperativo, el modelo Flipped Classroom, el uso de IA en Newton College y otras soluciones TICs. Estas metodologías deben implementarse paso a paso en la planificación curricular de los profesores (por ejemplo, las unidades del PAI pueden incluir una parte metodológica y otra TICs) y un seguimiento por parte de este equipo debe evaluar su impacto en el aprendizaje de los alumnos y fomentarse a través de la formación continua del profesorado. Las nuevas metodologías y modelos didácticos de uso común en la escuela serán evaluados por el Equipo de INNOVACIÓN de forma continua e implementados si es necesario. 

• Promover el uso de edtech (Tecnologías del Aprendizaje y del Conocimiento) para que su uso tenga un valor adicional y duradero en el aprendizaje de los alumnos. Las herramientas digitales deben fomentar siempre la reflexión, la evaluación y la creación de nuevos productos por parte de los alumnos y no ser un mero canal de consumo digital. Debemos tener en cuenta como colegio que las edtech deben estar siempre basadas en una metodología y pedagogía sólida que debemos potenciar en el centro 

• Promover el uso de nuestro espacio maker (NUCLEUS) y el uso de zonas comunes del colegio para uso académico.

• Crear entornos para el aprendizaje sostenible, por ejemplo, un banco de recursos para la formación personal del profesorado.

• Investigar las necesidades del profesorado y coordinar la formación adecuada.

• Continuar implantando en nuestro centro el concepto de enseñanza y aprendizaje activo y centrado en el alumno a través de proyectos y formación adecuada, y hacerlo visible en el día a día. Promover la formación continua del profesorado en este aspecto.

• Visitas de centros de referencia y ferias educativas relevantes por parte del profesorado elegido por el Equipo de INNOVACIONES y el SLT.

Objectives of the INNOVATIONS Team 

The Innovations team is a support team for all stakeholders to research on and implement impactful teaching and learning at Newton College.

• Promote methodological and technological change at the centre of the school with the aim of fostering continuous and lasting learning for the pupils, staff and families.

• Promote the concept of Growth Mindset among teachers and students.

• Research, implementation, assessment and monitoring of methodologies and models at the centre. Reaching a consensus on the appropriate methodologies for the centre/stages and ensuring their appropriate use by the teaching staff with monitoring of their use, reflection on their effectiveness and improvements through continuous training in this aspect.

• Research and development of new teaching and learning approaches in collaboration with ISP’s Learning and Innovation, the EdTech group Lead and the Learning Experience team.

• The methodologies established by the school as commonly used methodologies in LNC and presented and worked on in the INSET days should be the cornerstones of the school for all teachers: PBL (Project Based Learning), Cooperative Learning, the Flipped Classroom model, the use of AI at Newton college and other edtech solutions. These methodologies should be implemented step by step in teachers' curricular planning (e.g. MYP units can include a methodological and edtech part) and a follow-up by this team should evaluate their impact on student learning and encouraged through continuous teacher training. New methodologies and didactic models commonly used in the school will be evaluated by the INNOVATION Team on an ongoing basis and implemented if necessary. 

• Promote the use of edtech  (Learning and Knowledge Technologies) so that their use has an additional and lasting value in student learning. Digital tools should always encourage reflection, evaluation and the creation of new products by pupils and not merely be a channel for digital consumption. We must keep in mind as a school that edtech must always be based on a solid methodology and pedagogy that we must promote in the centre 

• Promote the use of our maker space (NUCLEUS) and the use of common areas in the school for academic use.

• Creating environments for sustainable learning, e.g. a resource bank for personal teacher training.

• Research on the needs of the teaching staff and coordinating appropriate training.

• Continue to implement the concept of active and student centred teaching and learning approach in our school through projects and appropriate training, and make it visible in everyday life. Promote continuous teacher training in this aspect.

• Visits of reference centres and relevant education fairs by the teaching staff chosen by the INNOVATIONS Team and SLT.

LNC faculty should be familiar with this document and be aware of the goals and responsibilities of the INNOVATIONS Team. The transparency of the work of the INNOVATIONS Team is fundamental for the teachers to feel represented and part of the improvements established by the INNOVATIONS Team. Therefore, we must make the work visible and present to all teachers, parents and students of the school.
