¿En qué consists?

Google Workspaces for Education es el nombre colectivo de una serie de productos y servicios de Google. En nuestro colegio hemos adoptado su uso y podrá descubrir que su hijo utilizará Google Classroom, en particular, a diario para recibir materiales, tareas, calificaciones y comentarios de su profesor.

Aplicaciones gratuitas sin publicidad

• Correo Gmail: Se puede trabajar con un correo comunitario que ofrece 25 gigas de almacenamiento para cada usuario y un eficaz filtrado de spam, a la vez que facilita la creación de cuentas personalizadas con el dominio del centro.

• Google Drive: Esta herramienta otorga al centro un espacio de almacenamiento para archivos y la opción de crear documentos de texto, hojas de cálculo, carpetas, presentaciones o formularios, que podrán ser compartidos entre los usuarios.

• Calendario: La organización en el colegio está asegurada; horarios de clase, reuniones de claustro, eventos o consejos escolares, entre otros. Cualquier acontecimiento quedará anotado en el calendario, que hará las veces de agenda tanto para alumnos, como para profesores.

• Google Sites: Dotará al centro educativo de la capacidad de crear páginas web interactivas sin la necesidad de tener conocimientos de programación o de HTML. Esta llamativa opción despertará el interés de los más pequeños, consiguiendo esa involucración y actitud participativa que se pretendía alcanzar.

• Otras aplicaciones: Documentos, Presentaciones, Hojas de Cálculo o Classroom. Son numerosas las aplicaciones que Google pone a disposición del centro educativo. Además, se podrán añadir otras desde el Panel de control del administrador: Picassa, Maps, Google Voice, navegador Chrome o Blogger, son algunas de ellas.

¿Cómo podemos acceder?

El colegio proporcionará a cada alumno una cuenta de Google que utilizará para unirse a las clases de Google Classroom y acceder a los materiales que necesiten para sus clases.  Los padres no necesitan acceder a Google Classroom en esta etapa, sin embargo, si están interesados pueden revisar la cuenta de su hijo y por lo tanto ver el tipo de trabajo que su hijo está accediendo y participando aquí en la escuela.  Pedimos a nuestros alumnos que se descarguen la aplicación de Google Classroom, Google Docs, Google Sheets y Google Chrome para poder acceder de una forma más rápida y cómoda.

¿Qué se espera de los alumnos?

Se espera que los alumnos se incorporen a las clases siguiendo las instrucciones de sus profesores, aquí en la escuela.  Deberán seguir cualquier material que su profesor publique en esta plataforma y completar cualquier tarea que se les asigne.

What is it?

G Suite for Education is the collective name for a range of Google products and services.  In our school, we have adopted the use of G Suite for Education and you will find that your child will be using Google Classroom, in particular, on a daily basis in order to receive materials, assignments, grades and comments from their teacher.   

Free applications without advertising

• Gmail: A community email can be used, offering 25 gigabytes of storage for each user and effective spam filtering, while facilitating the creation of personalised accounts with the centre's domain.

• Google Drive: This tool provides the school with storage space for files and the option to create text documents, spreadsheets, folders, presentations or forms, which can be shared among users.

• Calendar: The organisation of the school is assured; class timetables, staff meetings, events or school councils, among others. Any event will be noted in the calendar, which will act as an agenda for both students and teachers.

• Google Sites: This will give the school the ability to create interactive web pages without the need for programming or HTML knowledge. This eye-catching option will awaken the interest of the youngest children, achieving that involvement and participatory attitude that was intended to be achieved.

• Other applications: Documents, Presentations, Spreadsheets or Classroom. There are numerous applications that Google makes available to the educational centre. In addition, others can be added from the Administrator Control Panel: Picassa, Maps, Google Voice, Chrome browser or Blogger, are some of them.

How can we access it?

Each student will be provided with a Google account by the school and they will use this in order to join classes within Google Classroom in order to access the materials they will need for their classes.  Parents do not need to access Google Classroom at this stage however, if interested can review their child's account and therefore see the kinds of work their child is accessing and participating in here at school.  We ask our students to download the app for Google Classroom, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Chrome in order to access it in a quicker and more convenient way.

What is expected of the pupils?

The pupils are expected to join classes as instructed by their teachers, here at school.  They will be expected to follow any materials that their teacher publishes on this platform and complete any assignments they are given.
